Spot Cleaning & Washing

• Immediate Action: Blot spills immediately with a clean, lint-free cloth. Do not rub, as this pushes the stain deeper into the scales of the wool fiber.

• Mild Solutions: For small stains, use lukewarm water mixed with a drop of wool-safe detergent (like Woolite or baby shampoo). Dab from the outside of the stain toward the center.

• Avoid the Dryer: Never put a wool coat in a tumble dryer. The heat and agitation will cause "felting" (permanent shrinking and hardening of the fabric).

• Flat Drying: If the coat gets wet, lay it flat on a clean, dry towel to air dry. Do not hang a wet wool coat, as the weight of the water will stretch the shoulders and ruin the silhouette.

Storage & Care

• Proper Hangers: Always use a wide, padded, or wooden hanger. Flimsy wire hangers can create "shoulder nipples" and permanently misshape the coat.

• Seasonal Storage: Before storing for the summer, have the coat dry cleaned once to remove oils and skin cells that attract moths.

• Moth Protection: Store in a breathable fabric garment bag (avoid plastic). Include cedar blocks or lavender sachets to naturally repel pests.

• Steaming: Use a garment steamer rather than a traditional iron. The steam relaxes wrinkles without crushing the wool's natural loft.
